Today was the first meeting after the build season kickoff, and we’ve launched into a flurry of activity. The build team, having the details of this year’s challenge, has divided into subgroups based on the various engineering challenges presented by the new course. One such group is working on the robot’s self-lifting mechanism, and are using a triple hooked design to suspend the robot from the bar. Another group is working on the “power cell” challenges, and is designing an apparatus with which to carry and launch them.
The programming team, meanwhile, began to revisit some of our old code and controls, and strategize about the competition. Because they’re in charge of directing the robot’s actions, a highly detailed strategy and design in coding is imperative. Lastly, the business team began to restructure our financial databases, wrote thank-you letters to sponsors, and began the award application process.
