This is it. The last day before competition, and everything is falling into place. The build team finished attaching the lift bar, finished up the pit setup, weighed the robot, and made some modifications to decrease the weight (if we’re too heavy, we’ll get disqualified, and I don’t think anyone wants that). After that, they packed up the robot, and went off to Salem, to set up at the competition site.
Our pit setup. This is approximately what it’ll look like for competition. Our robot, who is now named Ben Swolo, completed and outfitted with a blue alliance bumper.
The programming team finished testing on the autonomous code; during the autonomous section, we’ll be able to cross the line, Additionally, we completed merging the rest of the code. The controls are complete, and, come tomorrow, we’ll be ready to drive for competition. The business team finished distributing the T-shirts, completed the handout, detailing our robot’s capabilities for other teams that might consider choosing us for an alliance, and continued to rehearse and prepare for the Chairman’s Award presentation.
Tomorrow and the day after will be this year’s first competition, in Salem, Massachusetts. We’re planning to do one blog post each day, with videos of our robot, who, I should mention, is now named Ben Swolo, in competitions.
