Arm’s built, coders are coding, and we’re gearing up for competition.
Programming

The programming team is currently working on coding the arm. They also are fixing one of the old 3d printers, as well as making the code more accessible. They also have been wiring up the robot. New members are learning to code in Python: making the robot more accessible to students in the two year computer science CTE pathway at Portsmouth. Programming Captain Daniel is in talks with the Computer Science teacher on including a unit on coding a robot.
Build

The arm’s finally in place, and we’re finally all working on the lifting mechanism that will allow us to connect the climb at the end of the match. Though most of these advancements are still being worked on to improve them for the competition. The Electrical lead is wiring the robot: ensuring proper maintenance and a metal-shaving free competition season. We are experimenting with a new form of wiring the CAN bus: including various terminating ends to make the wiring more affable with various snags.
Business

At the business desk, we’re busy finishing the touches for our Impact Award submission. It’s all dandy back here (and we’re totally not panicking about the deadline being in a few days.) Most of us are working actively on the Impact Award right now. We have also ordered shirts for completion. The Business team’s determination is commendable; with many hours spent scraping away at the mountain of work to do. The T-Shirts have been ordered for the team members: with each T-shirt design we move away from the classic dragon logo.
