Hello again, everyone! We hope you’re all having a good start to spring! Over here, we’re spending these warmer days making steady progress on the robot. The build team has completed the battery dock for the chassis (that’s going to be responsible for making sure the battery doesn’t fall out of the robot and begin dragging on the floor. My build team colleagues tell me that it would be very bad if that happened). Aside from that, we’re making steady progress on the frame of the chassis, with our first protective panel being placed on the lower frame today. As it stands, we expect to have a fully operational chassis with testable mecanum wheels in the near future.

While they did that, the programming team started out by getting the wireless systems set up on the robot. This had been giving us quite a bit of trouble in both this season and the last one. Although connection unreliability didn’t actually manifest as a major problem in the challenge, there was certainly concern about its reliability. That said, in an incredibly uncommon turn of events, we were able to identify and fix the problem almost immediately, and…it was almost immediately replaced with a different problem. As of my writing this, however, progress is being made, and it’s looking like we’ll have the remote controls working on the test robot as early as this Thursday.

That’s just about everything for today. Once again, thank you all so much for reading this, and we hope you have a wonderful week! See you next time!
