Welcome back, loyal followers to an exciting week at the Wire Clippers! Today, we are in the middle of the season with a ton of deadlines and the heat is ramping up. Last friday, we finished all the field elements – tomorrow, the robot’s being turned over to programming. The pressure is on! We are ready and excited for the two competitions we will attend!
Business
Today, we were hard at work writing this amazing blog that we are so thankful that you read and support. We also reached out for sponsors and tried to get new amazing sponsors too! Business is also busy preparing and coordinating to make sure that we have buses and transportation for competition!
Programming
Today I would like to shout out one of our sophomores on the team, Daniel Sabalakov. Every day he is hard at work trying to figure out how to optimize the code work to make it as flawless and efficient as possible. Daniel goes above and beyond and expands his understanding and skillset in coding by practicing and learning outside of robotics hours. Today, the programming team is working towards velocity controls for the flywheels in our “note shooting prototype.”
Build
Today the Build Team installed and wired a motor control panel in the robot. They also worked hard on adding the finishing touches to the shooter prototype that shoots an orange ring (an element of the competition). Build was also hard at work creating various structures that accurately simulates the competition’s arena and challenges. Another hurdle was jumped as a member of the build team assembled the bumpers that will go onto our robot during the competition.
Closing Notes
Thanks for keeping up with our team! We can’t wait for comp and are also so thankful for your continued support in the middle of the season! Let’s hope that tomorrow is a snow day! See y’all next post!!
