It’s finals week here at PHS, and we’re still behind the update desk. Time for update 7!
Build
Build team is busy at work building the chasis (the thing that holds the robot, and more importantly, our entire operation, together).
In terms of other things they’re doing, it includes measurements and a lot of exposed wiring. And some work on the mechanism to launch notes into speakers. (If you’re confused by that, we have a handy guide on scoring this year.)
Programming
I would say they’ve been working on figuring out the ropes. However, I’m pretty sure that they’ve been spending a significant amount of time launching balls at cameras.
In actuality, this was a test of an older robot we have.
I can also say that a specific person accidentally forgot to code a stopping mechanism, causing the robot to ram into everything and misaligning a bunch of AprilTags in the process. Once again, we need a safety captain for a reason.
Business
There’s not a lot happening on the business side. We’re just getting started with our season, so we’re still taking care of some background information.
Sponsors should get emails from us about shirts in the near future (if you haven’t already.) We’re glad you decided to help us this season!
Final Notes
It’s very clear at this point that these weekly updates are getting to the barebones part. Expect some frequent updates on our socials (now including Twitter, for the first time since 2017!)
