Adapting to unusual circumstances 11/9/22

Welcome, loyal followers, to the Wire Clippers blog! As we continue with the preseason we will be posting every week. The preseason is coming along smoothly, and despite a few scheduling hiccups, we are making good progress. We would like to thank Chris Dahlen for coming in with quick notice and allowing us to continue to work.

The business team is hard at work

Today the business team was hard at work emailing sponsors and communicating with them about the upcoming year and organizing purchases, chipping away at the safety animation, and talking to the administration about finances.

The programming team is hard at work understanding and looking at the code

Today the programming team continued along the training process, writing test code and practicing transferring the code between java and HTML. The veteran members also taught the freshman what the code meant and how to type specific commands. Although Programming Captain Adam Hoskin had to leave early, the team continued to work efficiently even in his absence

The build team

Today the build team continued working on the chariots, with two of them now approaching completion. Additionally, a portion of the build team learned about the electrical system from veteran member Evy Wilkinson (pictured above), and plans to test their new skills on old Captain Hook! Images of both processes to follow as they develop.

Today’s meeting has proven that, although problems are sure to emerge as the season progresses, we are ready and able to meet them head-on and keep working efficiently – a tendency we are sure will come in handy as we near competition. Thank you all for reading, and we will be back with updates for you next week!
