Armoring Up! 11/21/22

Hello Wire Clippers Fans! We come to you with another update on our preseason shenanigans. We’ve been very productive on all of our actions lately, especially in regards to the chariot process. We’re excited with our progress and we can’t wait to see what new heights we reach this season. Without further ado, here is our subgroup updates.

The Business Team, hard at work managing finances and chariot advertising.

Business Team: The business team has been making great strides in preparation for the upcoming build season. The team financials are nearly all collated and set up, with sponsor emails going out shortly as well. They’ve also been hard at work prepping some of the award work, and are nearly ready to start working on the large, essay-based awards that are due during the build season. Finally, the business team has begun to design and plan advertisements for the upcoming chariot race. We want everyone to know where and when it’s happening, so the business team is making sure that happens!

The Build Team, currently finishing up discussions on tools.

Build Team: The build team is currently finishing up the chariot process. It has been very exciting to be able to test our abilities (and learn some new ones) through collaboration with another class! Today, we finished up the last of the paper mache coverings and are preparing them for decoration by the Western Civ class. As the chariots near completion, our build team is beginning to switch back to their original activities, particularly new member training via Lightning Rounds. We mentioned these a little while back, and are excited to keep improving our construction and time management skills through them!

The Programming Team, testing out their new systems with a test board!

Programming Team: The programming team has been trying a new form of teaching; the captain, Adam, has been offering tests to each of the newer members to probe their skills for developing new systems for the robot. It has been an exciting process, one filled with learning for everyone involved. The team has also been continuing their practice on rebuilding various systems, such as improved motor control. Overall, the team is itching to keep chipping away at new projects!

That’s about all for now. We appreciate your continued support and viewership, and hope to be able to continue to update you as time goes on. Goodbye, and stay warm in the coming days of winter!
